Perhaps one of NZ’s best kept secrets, Orokawa Bay is a breathtaking white sandy beach lined with ancient Pohutukawa trees. Accessible only by a walking track or water, the inlet is a much-loved vista that relatively few get to enjoy, especially at sunset. The contrast of the dark boughs of Pohutukawa against the twilight blue of the Pacific Ocean offers a mystical quality to the moonrise suspended in time.
