An invitation to slower mornings
Share
There’s something undeniably beautiful about the change of seasons. The air feels cooler, the mornings a little slower, the sky dusted in softer light and what I've found is it’s an invitation—a gentle nudge from nature herself.. to slow down, breathe deeper, and check in with how we’re really doing.
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about how I show up for myself, especially during these seasonal shifts. What rituals help me feel grounded? What practices bring me back to my best self?
Because that’s what it’s really about, isn’t it? Not perfection, not productivity—but presence. Showing up for you in a way that feels nourishing, sustainable, and deeply your own.
Let's talk about creating rituals that anchor us.
For me, it starts in the morning. A hot cup of coffee. A slow morning playlist humming gently in the background. A chapter of a book read from beneath a blanket, curled up beside my dogs, candle flickering nearby. These tiny rituals might seem simple, but they hold weight. They set the tone for how we carry ourselves through the day.
Lately, I’ve been loving our Becca Project candles for this, there’s just something about lighting a candle that says: this moment matters. We have a few beautiful scents in stock that add warmth to the space and presence to the routine.
On my bedside table sits one of our Dear Me or Dear Future journals, ready for a thought or two. I don’t journal every day, but when I do, I always feel a little more connected to myself. These journals are created with intention.. gentle prompts and wide open pages to explore whatever’s stirring inside of you.
Embracing the sweat and stillness, this season, I’ve also been leaning into my sauna practice, we have The Sauna Project which parks up on the beach select days and it's something that’s become such a powerful tool for mental clarity, recovery, and just makes me feel really good. There’s something so calming about stepping into that heat, especially on these cooler days, and letting your mind quiet as your body softens. It’s become a non-negotiable part of how I care for myself.
And then of course, moving my body, whatever that looks like on the day. Some mornings it’s the gym, other days it’s a beach walk or a run with the dogs. The point isn’t the intensity but the consistency.
They say it takes around 21 days to form a habit, so starting small and showing up often is where the magic is. Find your version of movement, what works for you, and let it become part of how you care for yourself.
Make your space feel like you - your environment matters. Especially when the days are shorter and we spend more time indoors. I’ve been slowly curating my home with things that feel meaningful to me, artwork, words, and objects that remind me to pause and appreciate where I am.
One of my favourites? The words by Jen Ryan a collection inspired by nature, authenticity, and chasing what lights your soul on fire. I have them perched on my walls and bedside table as gentle reminders of the life I want to keep building.
This season, I hope you’ll give yourself permission to slow down. To carve out moments of intention. To sip your tea a little slower, to breathe a little deeper, and to remember: you don’t have to do it all—you just have to start with what feels good.
Here’s to slower mornings, warmer rituals, and living gently (& with purpose.)
With love,
